” 48 – THE DEAD TALK ” PREMIERE IN NAPLES THE WORK OF CHINESE LIU Shugang

China will be on stage in Naples thanks to the revolutionary theater lab Chinese University “L’Orientale” .
Italian premiere was in fact represented , theater Galleria Toledo on 7 and 8 May , a work of the famous writer , playwright and director of the Experimental Theatre in Beijing Liu Shugang .

His play ” A dead man who goes to visit the living ,” recognized as the best of 1988 the play was adapted for the Neapolitan public by the director Lorenzo Montanini and was recited by the students / actors in both Italian and Chinese.

The idea of this event – sponsored by the Confucius, the Banco di Napoli and ADISU – Oriental is the sinologist and professor of Chinese language and literature Cristina Pisciotta and is based on a conception of popular science teaching : thanks to the acting on the one hand students are approaching the texts in first – person , so make the most formative and the other to know the Chinese modern and contemporary theater with new works in Italy and most of Europe.

The Neapolitan version of the opera ” 48 – the dead speak ” , just like the original, is inspired by a true story : Ye Xiaoxiao , hero of the post-Maoist China , is assassinated by two thieves on the bus 48 between the indifference of the people.
The show is divided into episodes, is structured in such a way that the anonymous crowd slowly emerge the personal stories of each, in a plot not without twists and rooted in Chinese society.
Cultural diversity thus becomes , for the young actors and the public , a tool to better understand their own identity.
