Three giant panda cubs were born in captivity by a mother of 12 years, after a labor lasted about 3 hours. The event, which took place at the Chimelong Safari Park, in southern China, is exceptional if one takes into account the extreme difficulty to breed these animals. The director of the center for research and conservation of the giant panda also explains that there is only a 1 in 100 for a giant panda to give birth to triplets. The small, weighing respectively 90, 83 and 122 grams, have a good chance of survival.
