GUAGLIO’, THE MASCOT OF EXPO 2015 WITH THE NAPOLITAN NOSE
Expo 2015 has its own mascot. It ‘a head made up of various vegetables that recalls the work dell’Arcimboldo. The various vegetables are in fact the true characters of this mascot “modular”, whose names are decided via competition by school children in Milan. For the moment, only one of these has already found his name: garlic.
Name but not in any way reminiscent of the traditional Milanese: Guagliò. It’s just one of the eleven people who might assume the name or cumenda Brambilla. The name is obviously a play on the words “garlic” and “equalization”. And this fact could quell the minds of those who did not like the name: it’s a mascot, a game intended primarily for children. And for more than just his eleventh.
