CHINA OPEN BORDERS A ZAMPONI, COTECHINI AND MORTADELLA
Good news for the export of food companies of Modena. China has given the green light to imports of pork sausage , gammon , sausage and cooked meats in general . The opening of borders was welcomed by Coldiretti Modena : ” The opening of the Chinese market will help reduce the deficit agribusiness .” According to data from the Food and Agriculture, in 2012, the external balance of Emilia Romagna was a loss of EUR 1.271 billion , due to increased imports ( 6.359 billion euros) higher than exports ( 5.088 million ) .
Although the export of pig meat prepared ( except hams, sausages ” raw ” ) with 311 million and exports is a component minimal compared to more than 5,000 million of food products from our region who go abroad , the green sausage mortadella and should help to further increase sales in China of Italian products in general , and in particular of Modena .
According to Coldiretti , the green light will also help to curb the phenomenon of Italian sounding and affirmation of fake products made in Italy favored the embargo precisely on the real ones . In order for the opening of the Asian giant – said Coldiretti – ports of the real benefits to the national economy and regional level is necessary but also that the Italian pig industry is put in transparency , avoiding to pass off as Italian sausage made with pigs German or Dutch , the whose thighs are often used just to produce ham. A situation favored by the inertia of the European Union , despite the health scares that have occurred in recent years in Europe , yet does not intend to extend by regulation the requirement to indicate on the label the origin of pork used in meats , like what has been done with the beef after the mad cow emergency .
