CHINA OPENS THE MARKET FOR VIDEO GAMES. Exult NINTENDO, SONY AND MICROSOFT

China has opened the market to foreign games. The ban was imposed in 2000 to prevent harmful consequences for the mental health of young people, and it was extended throughout the territory of China.

The block of video games was “temporarily” lifted into the free zone of Shanghai, where the global giants of the industry, such as Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft consoles will be able to produce and then sell them, with the approval of the cultural authorities.

Currently consoles were sold in China in the contraband market, with a turnover estimated at $ 13 billion. In 2013, according to data disclosed by the annual games, the market sector grew by 38%.

The decision of the government in Beijing to open the sale of video game consoles had been taken on 21 December, and it was announced this week.
