BURBERRY. HALF-YEAR SALES UP 19% OF THANKS TO CHINA AND SOUTH KOREA
Burberry thanked China and South Korea for the rebound of 19% recorded sales in the second half, but the British group admits to expect a headwind in terms of currency for the next two years. In the six months to March 31, Burberry had revenues of £ 1.3 billion (just under € 1.6 billion), a figure in line with market expectations. The performance was driven by satisfying shopping season, which saw an increase of 14% in retail sales. The figure, which accounts for 70% of the turnover of the group, in the first half amounted to 928 million pounds (€ 1.1 billion), an increase of 13% compared to a year earlier. The organic sales growth in the six months was 12% due mainly to Asia Pacific. The title Burberry trades on the progress of about 1% in London.
