ASIAGO DOP EXPANDS IN CHINA
Asiago Dop expands its presence in China through a major trade mission aimed to meet with leading operators and importers of dairy sector. In addition to these meetings, the Consortium has been invited to participate, today, Tuesday, July 8, at the Sino-Italian Cooperation Forum dedicated to food safety, in which Chinese and Italian authorities will discuss the state of the art in prevention, traceability products and perspectives of cooperation and development in the dairy industry in China.
In 2012, the ranking of countries supplying cheese in China, Italy is in fifth place with a share of 3.2%, for a total of 4.65 million Euros (+25% compared to 2011). A percentage that has a potential of great interest, since the total imports of cheese in China were, in 2012, of 145.30000000 Euros, with a 34.1% over the previous year. E ‘in this context that, bringing his testimony with respect to the production in protected designation of origin, the Consorzio Tutela Formaggio Asiago, the “Sino-Italian Cooperation Forum on Food Security,” explores the foundations to expand its presence in the overall market Chinese.
