WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF Pizzaiuolo IN NAPLES: CHALLENGERS ARRIVE FROM 40 COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD TO CONQUER THE TROPHY CAPUTO


It ‘s all ready to Naples for the final of the XIII World Championship Trophy Caputo of Pizzaiuolo-: The event promoted by the Pizzaiuoli Neapolitans will be held on 2 and 3 September on the seafront of Naples, transformed for the occasion into a huge pizzeria . After a journey that lasted a year, in which the association has organized the Caputo Cup around the world,
the winners of the various “stages” will vie for the title of World Champion together with the other Pizzaiuoli, more than 500 from 40 countries will participate in the festival. At the international challenge will take part, among others, the winners of the competitions held in Japan, Portugal, Israel, Russia, Australia, Dubai, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates. The start of the race, open to the public with free admission, is scheduled for 15.00.
The event aims to highlight and celebrate the essential requirements of being Pizzaiuoli, with the “u”. But it shows how, using the right techniques and the best ingredients, the classic Neapolitan pizza is replicable worldwide. The competition will be held, like last year, the Rotunda Diaz Via Caracciolo, in what has been dubbed the Stadium of Pizza: bleachers and grandstands overlooking the Bay of Naples, from which to admire the skill of the pizza. The competition involves the assignment of 8 titles for different categories ranging from the preparation of the classic pizza until that acrobatic, through the gluten-free pizza and category STG (Traditional Speciality Guaranteed). For those who want to taste some of the best pizzas in “Made in Naples”, the event will continue until Sunday, September 7 and will be attended by as many as 50 historic pizzerias in Naples and its province, which will animate the 30 thousand square meters of Pizza Village.
